"I'm sure you're familiar with Little Shuck here. Unfortunately he does not remember you." She gives an I-am-so-sorry-for-you look. The hound takes its role with much pleasure and closes in with much fast pace towards Dakara, satisfied to be able to prove his loyalty towards the master.

Dakara let out a small cry, but she soon stop when she sees the pleasure on the face of her non-identical twin sister.

There must be some way, she thought, as she squint her eyes so she can see further to find an exit, I don't want to die. The last thing she realise was that there are no other choices to opt out. She will have to choose between two: a) She willingly gets eaten by that gross mutt; 2) she forces her way out --if there's even a way-- through the dark, unforgiving hole beneath, and hopefully don't end up in pieces.

The option seem pretty obvious, since Dakara will never give up. She will opt for the dark hole. But, there is still one more problem she fear. What if, just what if the dark hole brings her to somewhere else, somewhere like, the land where she was born? The sound of it dreaded her. She could not go back there. The punishment would be far more devastating than here. She was suppose to be dead in her Land. They wanted to kill her, and they manage to kill her family. Going back would be just a dead end.

The hound closes in once more. This time, the fangs are visible and she could see drool dripping away from its mouth.

She must now do the weighing of consequences before the hourglass runs out. Darn! Why are people not given the chance to actually think rationally at the very last few minutes of their death? She struggled albeit, still unable to make a choice. Gory pictures start to float in her mind. Pictures of her family during the massacre, adrift in her mind, to remind her of the situation she will end up if she made the wrong choice. And the hound? she can picture the scenes herself.

Somewhere, somehow in her midst of her despair, she felt the urge to look down the black hole before making a decision. No, she already made a decision. She was just going back and forth, whether, or whether not to.

"Dakara! Wake up!" She heard an echo of her name, coming from beneath. Faint, but not distorted.

She tries to distinguish the owner of this very different voice, and finally recalls that it belongs to Leon. A trap, perhaps? Her sister will do anything to bring her back to their land. She hesitated. Then it happen again.

"You can't just leave me alone! I have nobody else in this world but you!"

This time she was so sure. She just have to leap. The voice gave her the courage to jump, off this very cliff, and to end up in, well, God knows where. She is positive the sound came from Leon, her best friend, because she just could not have mistaken that voice for anything else. At least, she chooses to believe it this way.

Just seconds after she leaps, she saw the smirk and disappointment on her sister's face. Most unlikely a victory smile. The hound? Twice as much disappointed as the owner. It might sound silly, but Dakara actually let out a few chuckles when she saw the scene.

A small  light pierced through the darkness. Her head first aiming towards it, and then her body follows. There was basically nothingness throughout the journey. It felt as her life and hope were drained bit by bit as she enter deeper. It was just a faint, speck of glow at first. But as she drops further, the light grew, and swell until it filled the whole, tunnel, it seems. Finally, the light was so glaring that Dakara just threw her hands on her face, covering her eyes...

Leon was shocked! He wasn't quite sure of the reason though. Whether it was because he found Dakara now hugging him, in particular; or whether the fact that she was, indeed, in her own flesh, alive as anything. You should have seen his expression. Terrified, confused, and contentment. A mixture of three!

There he was. Moments ago, grieving for the lost of his only friend, a moment later grinning like a mad man, as if he just won the grand prize for lottery. All he knew that she was lifeless at first, and then the next she just woke up, with her big, beautiful eyes and gaze, tears streaming instantly, hugging him tightly, nearly choking him to death! There are times when he really hope that he wouldn't have to face too much surprises, unlike nowadays. Supposingly, he still haven't gotten used to the sudden jolts nowadays.

"I knew it was you!" She wailed. "It was you that saved me! Your voice..."

Leon held her for some time. They hugged each other as if the world was going to end today. The sun shone above their heads. Morning. It had just been a day,no, two days to be the exact, and so much happened, Leon thought, still staring at Dakara's face in disbelief and much bewilderment. And in his mind, he wonder if he could handle more of these, so called "adventures".
