"Sit tight, honey." She starts the engine, drives away from the car porch of Dakara's house. She was heading back home in the drizzle. Dark clouds form. The rain started small, then soon poured down heavily.
They came to a high cliff. Leon pressed his face towards the side windows. Tall fir trees passed his view, along with the rain. He was in daze, captured by the essence of the fir woods. He was in cloud nine. Just then, everything went wrong.

The car suddenly swerved hard sideways, almost ramming into the road railings. She hit the brakes. Leon was shook violently from his daydreams. Both alarmed. She tries to concentrate, bringing the vehicle back on track, but to no avail. TOO late. The car rammed into the railings this time, they were out of luck. The railings gave way as it could not stand the weight of the vehicle. The vehicle plunged down the cliff, along with both mother and son. They were thrown off the cliff, into the thick fir woods.
Their vehicle came to a halt when it finally ran into a huge fir tree. The front crumple zone badly damaged, crushed. They hauled themselves out of the crumpled vehicle, filled with bruises and fresh scars.
"Honey, are you alright?" She pulls her son out of the car, still bleeding profusely from the head. He sustained minor injuries on his legs.
"I'm here, mom." He whispers in his tiniest voice. "It's okay, I'm fine." Boldly he reaches out, and grabs his mother's hand.
She embraces him tightly. Two figures appeared abruptly. One man, one woman. They wore black capes, leaving their features barely visible. Their faces appeared blurred in his indistinct memory. Leon tried hard to recall, but he couldn't. Their imaged seem to distort, although the background was crystal clear.
"Give us the boy and the amulet!" The woman boomed. The man stood aside, solemn, careful not to interrupt. The voice of the woman icy cold, showing no compassion.
"Never!"Leon's mom fought hard, without a slight of hesitation. The boy, still in his mother's embrace. Helpless.
"I said give me the boy!" This time, the man sounded impatient. His mom held him even closer, refusing to part with her son. Leon stayed as quiet as a mouse.
"Well, you leave me no choice."
His mother mumbled her last words. Leon blacked out.

He finally woke up, only to find out his mom was gone. As for his memory, erased. His mom was classified as sudden death by the police enforcements. He could only recall himself involving in a horrid accident, nothing much. He clutch tightly onto his pendant, his only belonging left by his mother, and sob...
The funeral, sombre. Where he seemingly remember his relatives labeling him a child who could only bring trouble. A curse towards the family.

Leon fell on his knees. He completely succumbed to the torment and agony. His mom's death was never a freak accident, she was plotted to the grave! Leon hesitated. Images of Dakara's family surfaced. Dakara's mother.
"I see two dark figures... they were the ones that resulted the death of my mother!"
He turned towards Dakara, "You are the liar. Your parents are the ones responsible for my mom's death." he choked. " They plotted together to get rid of her!"
"HOW could she do that?? Our mothers were best friends!"
