Leon held her for some time. They hugged each other as if the world was going to end today. The sun shone above their heads. Morning. It had just been a day, no, two days to be the exact, and so much had happened, Leon thought, still staring at Dakara's face in disbelief and much bewilderment. And in his mind, he wonder if he could handle more of these, so called "adventures".

"I tried to kill you."
"It wasn't entirely your fault."
"No. I am your friend." She sobbed harder. Leon looks into her eyes. How mesmerizing, how beautiful ---as the sun rays were captured perfectly in the corner of her eyes---and to think that just awhile ago, he might just lose all of it.
"Look, that person I had just encountered, whoever it is, I'm sure it wasn't you." he tries to console her in a soft, soothing tone. "You're okay now, and I'm fine. That's what matters."
She looks at him, directly in the eye, held her gaze for a moment, a small hesitation, and lunges her body forward. Their lips met. Leon could taste her breath, feel the heat of her body again--lifeless a few seconds ago. And yet, amidst this passionate kiss, he felt a sense of desperateness, a need of assurance, not out of sheer love. He pulled away, puzzled by his reaction.
But she finally kissed me, why am I so unhappy?
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I'm just slightly emotional." She blushes on her cheeks, embarrassed.
"I would have done the same thing if I was nearly dead a few seconds ago." He blurted out unconsciously, only to regret what he just said.
Oh great, Leon. that was the most silliest thing to say after you kissed a girl! Especially when the girl is Dakara! Great. I guess you're just anxious, that's all. Forgiven.
She begin to smile. That bright, luminescent smile, almost melting him to the core. Almost.
"We better go back, before they come looking for us." He said, "We'll talk about the book next time."
She nods in agreement. They head out of the woods, now brightly lit, a lot more less scarier than the night before. Leon held her by the hand as they made a run for it. For the first time, he felt her fingers, a little cold on the ends, small and fragile, and hopes that she will not notice that his palms are sweating.

They managed to slip into the school through the back gate, roughly 7a.m. in the morning, which Leon manages to figure it out because he spotted the school keeper doing his first round around the school before classes starts. Usually the classes were conducted by this time, however, since it's Saturday, many pupils opt to sleep in, resulting only some extra classes conducted.
The lesser the crowd, the better, he thought. People in boarding school can be really poky at times, rumours here spread very fast. As far as they both concern, there's obviously no point of covering a fact that the girl you admired just rejected you, it's pretty pointless. News like these spread like untamed bush fire, barely minutes later, eating every single morsel of your pride left, making you wish you hadn't been born alive.
Both of them remain as quiet as possible, in case anyone caught them together, an incident in which the school authorities would not be really pleased with. They were familiar of his usual checking routes, cuningly avoiding them, and disappearing into their dorms respectively.
Leon unlocks the door in his room, relieved that his room mate is still asleep, shirtless, covered in a thin piece of sheet. He quietly lays his backpack on the study table (which he painstakingly took it all along throughout the night ), making sure that he will not jolt his roomate from his slumber, took out the Book, carefully laying it underneath his pillow. He sighs. As he pictures Dakara again, and the Kiss, still finding it shocking that he'd actually pulled away! He felt suddenly as if all the trouble he'd gone through last night was nothing, when compared with the first kiss he received, by none other that the girl he had long awaited to kiss.
Somehow, it didn't felt right. That moment. That kiss. it was probably the timing, or the situation. Perhaps it was the setting. It seems like there is an underlying meaning to it, almost like she wanted to say goodbye, like she is sorry she had to leave. Or maybe, it was just the butterflies. Leon pulls the bed sheet over his face, wanting to get a bit of rest before he starts his day.
Wait, what am I thinking about, I have already started the day long ago.
He groans, and his eye lids begun to feel heavy and the drowsiness got the better of him. Lucky for him, it's Saturday.
