I'm taken.

i can finally, assuredly, confidently boast that i am
taken.
no.
maybe not the boasting part.
but confidently, yes.


have you ever wanted something so bad.
like the merry go round ride you always wanted so badly to ride on.
you just never get to ride on.
you waited for decades.
and finally when you had a taste of it,
time has a funny way of downplaying pleasure.

perhaps, imagining the ride would be more satisfactory.

perhaps, imagining that the man of my dreams will come in the most
romantic, sweeping, dashing manner
made the real thing a teeny weeny dull.

perhaps, how you experience it
doesn't really matter at all.
as long as you have experience the REAL thing.

perhaps a little more romance,
just because i was greedy for it,
not that i'm complaining.

i appreciate. i'm taken.
